Aloha mai, my name is Michelle Felipe. I was born and raised on the island of Oʻahu. I love to surf, hence the name Seoul Surfer. Currently a Junior at University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa, I am a double major in Entrepreneurship and International Business at the Shidler College of Business.
I will be studying abroad in Spring 2016 in Seoul, Korea from late February to mid June at Yonsei University. I am very excited to study in South Korea and look forward to traveling other parts of Asia! This is not my first study abroad rodeo, I had the opportunity to study in Seville, Spain in the Spring of 2015 and traveled across Europe. I learned so much about myself and traveling was so fun! I knew I wanted to study abroad again and decided to go to Asia. I chose South Korea because I love the food, culture, and Korean dramas of course! |
Freeman Scholarship |
The only reason I am able to have this chance to study abroad in Korea is due to the generosity of the Freeman Foundation for choosing me as a Freeman Scholarship Recipient. A huge mahalo piha and aloha to them for giving students an opportunity to see the world and broaden their minds on a global level.
