Hiiiii guyz ^.^
After you register for dorms, the next and probably most "stressful" part is next: COURSE REGISTRATION! Most people say that this is hell, it's all luck, so competitive, blah blah. In my situation, I ended up getting my classes quite easily BUT I did have a huge setback the first 30 minutes into registering, which I will go over. First things first, I would have hoped prior to picking your school you already had some possible courses in mind to take abroad and were even on the list of previous classes taken by other students. If not, there's always the petition form to petition a class to be an UH equivalent.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For Yonsei, you are only allowed to take THREE business courses a semester because business courses fill up fast -___- absolutely irras (but it's my fault for not checking earlier) like hello the solution to this problem is offer more courses in English if you're going to have hundred of international students at your school (i'm just salty) Therefore I'm taking three business courses at Yonsei and I'm enrolled in a online writing intensive course at UH which is LTECH 448 (Highly recommend) so all together 12 credits aka I'm a full time student AND I guess I have more travel time huehue :D
Yonsei Course Registration
Yonsei will send you emails regarding registration. The course registration came out in January and registration was February 15, therefore my #1 advice is have everything (what classes you are going to take, check the times, etc) ready BEFORE registration. Don't make your schedule on the day of or else you may not get your classes. I already knew what classes I needed to take: BUS 313, BUS 314, HRM351, and MGT341 . Sadly the BUS 314 equivalent was cancelled </3! Fortunately for me, prior students took these courses so these were like pre-approved courses that were on the Yonsei course equivalencies list on the Shidler page (YAY tanks prior students!). IMPORTANT: Unless you plan on taking classes in Korean, then look for a number 2 near the course name, THAT is the indicator that the course will be taught in English. Assuming you are a business student and international, then recommended courses for you would be anything with BIZ or IEE that have a UH equivalent.
Near registration time, Yonsei will email you a student number and a pdf packet on everything you need to know about how to register. READ the entire packet and understand how to register. They use a mileage bidding system which means you get 72 points and use them to bid for classes. Idk how i feel about this system, it has its pros and cons. Anywaaaays, because of the dumb rule about three business classes (merp grinds my gears) I had more mileage points to allocate to three classes rather than four or five.
ALSO Yonsei says to only use Internet Explorer when registering for classes because Firefox, Safari, and Chrome will cause problems and glitches during your enrollment. Who in this modern day still uses Internet Explorer??? So I call up some of my friends and they don't have internet explorer (duhhh no one does). I decided oh wells my only option is Safari and........IT WAS FINE. I hear some of the features during registration may not work with Safari so I had my course numbers ready so I could just search it and be done. In my experience, you didn't need Internet Explorer to register so don't freak.
Here is an easy step by step process on Yonsei registration:
1. Go to http://portal.yonsei.ac.kr/main/index.jsp and login using your student ID and the password format given to you in the email

*TIMESKIP 2 DAYS*
I GOT MY CLASSES MWAHAHAHA >:) I mean I sure hope I got them, I only bid on three classes. Overall the process isn't too bad. My only problem was I forgot to login to the portal first before logging into the registration window and it gave me problems.
If you're an unlucky guppy and didn't get some of the classes you wanted, there's a second registration period if you need to sign up for more classes. I have no experience in that so I won't touch that. Another option is waiting until the first day of school and taking a certain form and talking with the professor to join their class. May work, may not.
